Its unique sweet-and-sour flavour results from a recipe created by Barbieri brothers in 1919 in Padua. The secret recipe, which has never been changed, contains infusions of selected ingredients including bitter and sweet oranges and many other herbs (including rhubarb) and roots in perfect proportions.
