Juliana Kelman

Kelman Family Vineyard produces high quality wines with native grapes in the Dão region of Portugal since 2013. The vineyard stands at 450 meters of altitude on a mild slope and a sandy granitic soil that offer great drainage. The temperate climate and high daily temperature amplitude favour grapes with a good balance between sugar and acidity.
Manual harvest and a deep respect for the environment enable us to only select the best fruits. We follow an integrated farming with no irrigation. Traditional and modern techniques are used in the cellar to highlight the typicity of the terroir. Fermentation occurs in granite lagars after the grapes are foot trodden, inside of barriques, or in Ganimede tanks that use CO2 as a natural pump to gentlly extract colours and flavours. Natural acidity provides freshness and elegance to this gastronomic wine which has an aging potential of decades.
