The founding partner - António Augusto Fernandes - dedicated his life to the vineyards and to the wines, having started the production of generous and table wines in the year 1989.
Established in June 2000 with the aim of developing the table wine aspect betting on the improvement of methods and techniques of vinification, the company vinified in Quinta do Reboredo, in Torre de Moncorvo. All the wines of Quinta do Vale da Perdiz - marketed under the brand name "Cistus" - are produced from Douro Superior grapes, most of them coming from the vineyards of the Fernandes family, holding the company, with a total area of 50 hectares spread over six fifths.
