Quinta da Covela
Quinta da Covela is located on the border between the granitic zone of the Vinhos Verdes region and the shale zone of the Douro region. There are 49 ha of Quinta, of which 18 ha are destined to the production of grapes for vinification. Dated from the 16th century, Casa da Covela, formed by the ruins of the Renaissance building, the wineries and the chapel, testifies to the multisecular presence of wine production and the historical importance of the quinta.
Manoel de Oliveira was already the owner until the 90s to have been acquired again. In this farm organic farming is practiced and in the cellar no yeasts are used, and the fermentations are spontaneous.
