Quinta João Clara

In 2006 for the first time a wine brand João Clara Tinto Vinho Regional do Algarve is launched, the first edition was a dream and work of a young producer Joaquim Alves who chooses António Maçanita as oenologist and Júlio Antão to design the first bottle, developing the brand image of João Clara. The label for this first bottle was inspired on the chimney, symbol of the Algarve Region, which comes from the arabe occupation of five centuries.
Later the oenological work was shared with the oenologist Cláudia Favinha, however since 2013, this work was given to the oenologist Joana Maçanita and the the oenologist who started the project initially, António Maçanita. In 2007 is launched the first Rosé Wine, in 2008 the first White Wine, which was in honour of Joaquim Alves. Quinta João Clara is located in Vale de Lousas, Alcantarilha with an area of 26 hectares, where various farming activities are developed, although the most prominent is the culture of vines, that covers an area of 8,5 hectares, growing different grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Alicante-Bouschet, Aragones, Trincadeira, Negramole, Crato Branco, Arinto, Verdelho, Moscatel and Red Globe. Currently the farm is run by his descendants, being a family project with the priority and concern in the production of quality wines. As a result of the work, dedication and passion, these wines have earned numerous international awards. Today we produce six wines: João Clara Tinto, João Clara Rosé, João Clara Branco, João Clara Reserva Homenagem 2009, João Clara Reserva 2010, João Clara Negramole 2011. Currently, we have lauched a new brand Às Claras, which are two wines, Às Claras Tinto and Às claras Branco. This brand was introduced in 2014, emerged with the need of creating a brand with an average price, as well as with the desire of producing a wine with a fresh profile and easy to drink, associated to a clean and modern design. “The corporate image of the wines João Clara follows the need to promote the brand launched in 2006, by the young producer Joaquim Alves. After briefing followed by a study presented and approved proposal, the trademark João Clara occurs. A clean image, but at the same time with sophistication of the final arts. The concept was based on the creation of a symbol that represents in all its fullness, the Algarve, since the wines produced are of this region, therefor were chosen different types of old chimneys, which exist as local architecture, chimneys after stylized, came to characterize the various types of wines produced by this brand. The lettering was to bind serenity to the brand. A font Utopia SC presents a uppercase with classic features, elegant, sufficient to provide a feature easy to remember. The white labels applied leads us to one of the most emblematic colours of the Algarve, the pantones applied on these give it added value. In the final arts a coined symbol is presented, with varnish helping the chimney to outstand. In some cases depending on the type of wine, there are applications where hot silver is stamped, resulting in increased sophistication. In 2009, the year of change with the constitution of the company Essential Passion Lda, a new logo is created, representing a dynamic company which has the concern of the good marketing of this brand. As such an image is designed to think of passion deposited in the whole process of the wine production. With a concept of modernity, the logo appears with a symbol based on a stylization of a bunch of grapes, heart-shaped. The elegant and rounded lettering transmits sympathy and confidence, thus valuating the wine, a product of high expression, produced on this farm. In 2013 the need to create a new brand occurs, Às Claras is the choosen name for this brand. After a deep study of market ,public intended for this brand, the image arises. A minimalist image having the aim to highlight the name through the lettering, showing a strong, modern character easy to read. To this label with a rectangular shape, a circular cutting was applied, having a circular edge where the pantone changes depending on the type of wine it is applied on. This cutting is an open window showing the contents of the bottle. By this means the creation of a close synergy between the customer and the brand is created”.
