The Quinta do Porto 2015 Vintage is the first estate Vintage since Sogrape Vinhos' viticultural team began restoration
work at the vineyard over 10 years ago. For this reason, it is a Vintage with unique characteristics borne from the
long process of revitalising this vineyard. Rigorously-selected grapes were carefully vinified to produce a wine of
superior quality that meets the high standards expected of Porto Ferreira Vintages

Maturation: The exceptional wines selected for this final blend were transported to Ferreira's wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia where they matured in ideal conditions, in terms of temperature and humidity, in oak barrels characteristic of the Ferreira brand. The wines' evolution was constantly monitored by the winemaking team, multiple tests and analysis confirming the calibre of those used in the final blend | Consumption temperature: 16-18º |
Harvest year: 2015 | Allergens: Sulphites |
Enólogo: Luis Sottomayor | Tone: An almost opaque, deep red colour |
Tasting Notes - Aroma: An aroma of excellent intensity and complexity, with notes of red fruit and chocolate coming courtesy of good maturation. Additional complex balsamic aromas of resin, pine and tobacco box complement subtle shrubby tones | Tasting Notes - Palate: On the palate, it has excellent volume, firm-but-silky tannins, and a well-integrated acidity, with notes of black fruit combining with a resinous quality. A long and very elegant finish |
Vintage / Winemaking: Vinified using selected grapes from the plots of Quinta do Porto. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and again on arrival at the winery. Soft-crushing and destemming are followed by soft maceration in traditional granite lagares. During this period, the temperature of fermentation and density are monitored, in order to identify the right time to add the wine spirit. This moment depends on each grape variety, maturation levels and the desired sweetness |
