The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is one of the world's most prestigious wine competitions, recognised for its rigour, impartiality and influence. Held since 1984, the IWC was created by British wine writer Robert Joseph and is now meticulously managed by William Reed Business Media.

The IWC tasting process is extremely demanding and includes a 100% blind tasting of the wines, thus guaranteeing impartiality. Each winning wine is tasted blind on at least three separate occasions by a minimum of two judging panels, and then assessed by two vice-presidents who verify the panels' results. The IWC judging teams include international experts and influencers, as well as buyers and Masters of Wine, who work together to select the best wines from the 52 producing countries represented.

The judging process is divided into three rounds of tastings over two weeks. Wines that score more than 85 points in the first round go on to the second, where gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded. The third and final round is exclusively for the gold medal winners, to determine the winner of the trophy for their category.

Participating in the IWC is a unique opportunity for wine producers: it provides global recognition, increasing sales and visibility. In addition, feedback is given to all the wines entered
