Offley

Offley, founded in London in 1737 by William Offley, initially as a wine merchant, Offley soon began to export wines and later to produce its own Port. Barão de Forrester, as he was known, played a key role in the growth of the international Port trade and was the first person to map the river and the Douro valley, which earned him recognition and membership of several European Geographical and Arts societies.
