Vinhas Improváveis

From producer Raúl Riba D´Ave, the first edition (2014) was the result of the first harvest from a new vineyard in the Douro Superior. It was something very ‘improbable’. Although it may seem nonsensical, sometimes very young vines can produce grapes with incredible concentration of fruit, acidity and tannins. Nowadays, the ‘improbable’ is no longer the young vine - it no longer is - but the whole region. An extreme region, full of ‘improbabilities’, starting with the harsh climate, the steep mountain slopes and the schist soil.
