Vallado A.B.F. Very Very Old Second Edition 1843 Port celebrates and honours the history and legacy of Quinta do Vallado, bottled in 2025
24 numbered bottles were bottled in a solid walnut wood case. The case also contains a crystal decanter produced by Atlantis. Made using the traditional hand-blown technique, this decanter is a replica of the one used by António Bernardo Ferreira I himself in 1830 at the reception for the German prince Frederico of Hesse-Cassel.
Grape varieties: Made from pre-phylloxera vines, it therefore contains a range of grape varieties typical of the Douro region. Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional and many others.
Maturation: Throughout its life it has been housed in a 650 litre wooden hull

Tone: This extraordinary Port has an extremely seductive colour, reminiscent of mahogany, with hints of green when the glass is shaken, a clear sign of the wine's age
Tasting Notes - Aroma: The aroma is very complex and rich with numerous nuances of dried fruit (figs, plums), vinegar, iodine and spices, with a very fresh and harmonious finish
Tasting Notes - Palate: The palate confirms and reaffirms the tremendous freshness promised by the nose. Although the wine is extremely rich, unctuous, concentrated and dense, it finishes with an acidity that produces perfect harmony and gives it an explosive and endless aftertaste, making it seem as if the wine doesn't want to go away

Just imagine: you order 6 bottles of delicious Passagem white from 2023 and receive them after a week. Upon checking one of the bottles, you see that it is indeed the right wine. That same evening you have dinner with friends, so you put a number of bottles to chill in advance. That evening, you show your company the bottle from '23 and pour the glasses. Excellent reactions regarding aroma and taste, and after the first bottle, you open another. But that one turns out to be less fragrant and tart in taste. It can happen, perhaps a leaky cork, so you open another bottle. With the same result. And then someone in your party looks at the label of the last opened bottle and asks, "Wasn't this wine from '23? It says 2024 here!" Checking the remaining bottles makes it clear that of the 6 bottles ordered, only 1 turns out to be from 2023. The other 5 are from 2024. And that one tastes terrible. Absolutely incomparable to the one from a year earlier. The next day, you report this to Granvine, requesting clarification. Perhaps the website and storage are out of sync. Or maybe someone packed the wrong year during packing. You hope for an apology and an offer, such as getting that Passagem from '23 after all, or your money back. But there is no response. You repeat your request a week and a half later. And still no response. That is what happened to me, and I am no longer very happy with Granvine, something everyone can understand. I feel ripped off. I won't be ordering from them again, even though the Portuguese selection on the site isn't easy to find anywhere else. Treating your customers like this is simply not how it should be!

Realizei uma compra de 6 garrafas de vinho, mas apenas chegaram 3 — precisamente as mais baratas. As garrafas mais caras não foram enviadas e a empresa não assumiu qualquer responsabilidade pela situação. Acabei por gastar bastante dinheiro e não recebi a totalidade da mercadoria. Pela minha experiência, não recomendo esta empresa, pois o serviço e a forma como trataram o problema foram extremamente insatisfatórios.
